How do you make a healthy meal when you don't have the time? We've got you covered. Farming is a time consuming job, and so is cooking. So what's the solution? Cook while you're at work... Seriously. Some of our best meals have been the ones that we cook while we're either working or sleeping. Here's how we do it.

Take a frozen roast out of the freezer and unwrap it. Place the roast directly into a crock-pot or slow cooker. There's no need to thaw it. Pour one cup of water into the crock-pot. This keeps the meat hydrated while it cooks. No one wants their meat to be too dry. Next, we can wash and prep any vegetables we want to cook with our roast. Some good ideas are potatoes, peppers, green beans, onions, carrots, sugar snap peas. Feel free to experiment. Once our vegetables are washed and prepped to our liking, we can put them in the crock-pot with the roast however they best fit. Now is a great time to add seasoning, if we want to do so. Set the crock-pot to low. If you have a timer feature, set the timer to either eight or ten hours, whichever is more convenient. If you don't have a timer on your crock-pot, you'll need to turn it off after eight or ten hours. After you've done this, all you have to do is wait while it cooks... or take care of all the work you normally can't do while cooking.

While we don't recommend leaving your crock-pot unatended, we have often found practicality in working or sleeping while our pot roast cooks.

There you have it, an easy way to make a healthy meal with minimal preparation.
